Evan Hughes, Senior Financial Advisor
I’m Evan Hughes and in 2007 I co-founded Public Sector Retirement Advisors, later re-regulated in 2017 as PSRA. Prior to that, I worked with public sector workers when I spent some time with Cornmarket, working with teachers who were members of the INTO and ASTI schemes. Following that that I worked with Marsh Ireland, part of the Mercer group. At that time I advised a wide range of public sector workers such civil servant members of the CPSU, PSEU and IMPACT schemes, medical consultants through the IHCA scheme and teachers and lecturers through the TUI scheme. In all, I’ve been advising Ireland’s public sector workers on their finances since 2001. Public Sector Retirement Advisors was formed in 2007 as we felt there was a better way to deliver financial advice to Ireland’s public sector workers.
My primary degree is the Bachelor of Business and Legal Studies (BBLS) with UCD. I also hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Maynooth University. I am a Qualified Financial Advisor (QFA) since 2003. In 2007 I added a Joint Financial Services Diploma (JFSD) and became a Fellow of the LIA (FLIA), before adding the Professional Diploma in Retirement Planning Advice (RPA) in 2017. In 2020 I was awarded the Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning.

Clodagh Byrne, Senior Financial Advisor
I’m Clodagh Byrne and I started working with PSRA in 2010 covering the South East area. Prior to my current role, I worked in Postbank as Nationwide Business Development Manager, previous to that I worked as Area Sales Manager for South Leinster/Munster region and previously as Retail Sales Executive in Waterford GPO. I started my financial career working in Canada Life Assurance Head Office in Blackrock, Co Dublin gaining valuable experience in several departments. In all, I’ve worked in the financial services sector since 2001.
My primary degree is the Bachelor of Business and Legal Studies (BBLS) with UCD (2001). Following on from that I added an Associateship of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII in 2005) and also completed a Certificate in Mortgage Practice (2008). I hold my Qualified Financial Adviser (QFA) Status since 2006. In 2020 I was awarded the Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning.

Ciarán Hughes, Senior Financial Advisor
I joined PSRA in 2009 and I have been the PSRA consultant for the North West and Midlands since then. Before PSRA, I had many years’ experience working in a family tax consultancy firm in Kildare.
My primary degree is the Bachelor of Science in Finance & Accounting (BSc F&A) from NUI Maynooth. I hold my Qualified Financial Advisor (QFA) Status since 2009.
The counties which I cover are Sligo, Leitrim, Roscommon, Donegal, Longford, Westmeath, and Cavan. I am available for appointments in your workplace or at home if you prefer. Joe Murray, Senior Financial Advisor
I’m Joe Murray and I began my career as a Financial Advisor in 1999. I worked mainly with the private sector for the first 12 years where I gained valuable experience in all types of investments and pensions. In 2011 I joined PSRA and since then have been advising public sector workers on all aspects of their finances as well as being able to advise their spouses or partners in the private sector.
I am a fully Qualified Financial Advisor (QFA) since 2001. I keep myself up to date with all the latest changes in the industry as well as doing ongoing continuous professional development (CPD). Since I started my career my motto has always been to give the advice that’s in the clients’ best interest. In 2020 I was awarded the Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning.
I am available for appointments in the Cork, Carlow, Laois, Offaly and Kerry areas. Appointments can be made in the evenings as well as during the day.
Shannon Kavanagh – Financial Advisor
I’m Shannon Kavanagh and I started working with PSRA in June 2019.
I studied in UCD and obtained my undergraduate degree in 2019. I then joined PSRA and started my QFA exams and am a fully Qualified Financial Advisor since Jan 2021.
In Oct 2022 I achieved a First Class Honours from the Atlantic Technological University (Sligo) with a BA (Hons) in Business Insurance Practice (Life) (Apprenticeship Programme).
I was also awarded a best policy and practice award from the LIA, a Financial Services Educational Institution for my work during the apprenticeship.
I added my RPA (Retirement Planning Advisor) status in May 2023.
I have been running presentations in schools and many education centres since 2019, advising clients on retirement and general financial advice. I endeavour to provide my clients with honest, clear and straightforward advice.

Brian Farrell, Office Manager
I am Brian Farrell, office manager at PSRA which I joined in 2012.
I spent 15 years prior to this as co-owner and manager of a private business. I am a Qualified Financial Advisor (QFA) and hold a Certificate in International Financial Services and an IBEC Certificate in Management. In addition, I have just completed my studies as a Tax Technician with the Irish Tax Institute.
